Favorite Book:
My favorite book this month, by far, was Father of Lies. I loved that it was based on history and I learned a lot about the Salem Witch Trials. It was a nice little twist of fiction to actually teach a little history.
Least Favorite Book:
The book I gave the least amount of bookmarks to this month was Tyger Tyger. I didn’t hate it, but I’m not used to goblins. I will pick up the second book, with hopes that they’ll grow on me. But they’re scary
December Goals:
This month is dedicated entirely to holiday reading. I’ve already started my first one, The First Love Cookie Club. I have three of my holiday books on my Nook. I read a whole lot on there the first month I got it, and have fallen off since, only reading 1 on it in November. I need to spend some more time with it this month and have made a list of books I want to download after Christmas. Oh, and I found a local library that offers ebooks that I am going to start checking out. Anywho, I don’t have a lot of other big aspirations for the month, knowing I will be doing a lot of decorating, a lot of shopping and a lot of wrapping.
Now I did already give my husband one of his Christmas presents, a PS3, which will consume most of his time. In return for this, I am getting my Christmas present, a Canon Rebel XS, a little early. This will give me time to practice with it and get associated with it before Christmas Eve so I can take bunches of pictures. So, when I get this, I’ll probably put everything else to the side and focus solely on perfecting my camera knowledge.
I didn’t finish NaNo in November, but got almost 30,000 words down. I hope to continue on this and get my first draft of it done, then I’ll work on editing both of my WIPs. I am still feeling pretty good about them and have even set up a third one. Wow. I can’t believe I’m writing books. Now, just to get them finished and published.
Now last month I posted with joy that I had the biggest month ever on my blog. This month totally trumped that. Whatever is going on with Pretty Little Liars, I am not complaining. I had over 2600 blog views this month, up from 1300, which was my highest ever. And the majority of those came from people who were searching Pretty Little Liars. I have no idea how they found my blog. I searched Pretty Little Liars and my blog wasn’t on the first 5 pages. I also added ‘book review’ to the end of it and it still didn’t pop up. Either way, thanks to Sara Shepard!!!
I hope you all had an amazing Thanksgiving and are gearing up for the Most Wonderful Time of the Year!
Happy Thanksgiving to You!
Happy Thanksgiving to all of my readers! Man, I can’t believe another Thanksgiving is already here. There’s some years of your life that go sooo slow (like 12-18), then BAM, you’re 24 and have been married for a year and agree with the term that “time flies when you are having fun.”
My family spreads Thanksgiving out so we end up celebrating for over a week. We spend a day with my dad’s family the Sunday before Thanksgiving, spend Thanksgiving Day with my husband’s family, and spend the Sunday after Thanksgiving with my mom’s family.
This year is a bit different though. I am working. Bah! I am very thankful for having a great job that I love. But it was strange eating a chicken biscuit for lunch with potato chips and a french vanilla cappuccino as dessert. One good thing about being at work this year is that I didn’t have to fight over the TV with anyone and got to watch the Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade in it’s entirety. That’s a perk of working in a newsroom. There are 14 TV’s in one room. I am missing my family today, just because I know I’m not there with them. And I’m definitely missing out on some good eats. The hubs said he would save me a plate though. Thank goodness.
I have so much to be thankful for this year. Let’s see if I can list some:
*My husband and his ninja skills and the fact that he made it back from Japan in one piece (barely – those girls loved him)
*My family who gets a little crazier every day, but I wouldn’t trade them for the world
*My job – obviously! I am here today
*My online family who has been a major support for me this year through Twitter and my blog, urging me to keep reading and writing. I never thought I would have so many friends, spread out across the world.
*My books! Of course I am thankful for my books. A few years ago I wanted a hobby. I didn’t have any, other than going out with friends. Now with reading and blogging and writing, I hardly have time for anything else.
*The book Pretty Little Liars. Laugh all you want, but for some reason, people have been Googling PLL like crazy this month and coming to my review of the book and it’s been so many people that I have had a record number of viewers this month, but like a thousand! So thank you PLL!
One thing I need to work on for next year’s Thanksgiving is my cooking. This year, for the two that I am attending, I was told to bring drinks. I took tea to one Thanksgiving, and ice and I am taking pop to the other one. It’s quick and easy, but I want to be able to make something, even if it’s just cookies. I’m envious of all the people uploading scrumptious looking pictures to their blogs and Twitter. Making my mouth water. So my goal for next year is to perfect a Thanksgiving dish. And I have until Christmas to perfect something for that too!
Anywho, Happy Thanksgiving! I hope you have a wonderful family and fun filled day.
I Am So Very Thankful
So, it’s time again for Thanksgiving and to share what we are thankful for. This year, I have sooo much!

- *I am thankful for my health. Knock on wood, I hardly ever get sick!
- *I am thankful for my husband. It’s our first holiday season as a married couple. I can’t wait to buy “Just Married” decorations for our tree
- *I am thankful for my family. They are always amazing, but this year stepped it up and gave Michael and I the perfect wedding.
- *I am thankful that this year I have gotten much closer to a number of my family members.
- *I am thankful that I have a job and I love it.
- *I am thankful that I have met so many wonderful friends through blogging and have realized that through reading and writing I can find a release!
- *I am thankful that my grandmother has recovered so well from her stroke last Christmas. We weren’t sure if we would have her last Christmas and this year, she’s cute as ever.
I know that there are many more things I could touch on, but those are the main ones. What are you thankful for this year???
Profile Pic Update 11/11
So the leaves have all fallen from the trees, and my profile picture was out of date. So now, it’s ready for Thanksgiving. I got a gift card from my mom for Hobby Lobby and yesterday, I went crazy. I found all kinds of fall decorations and they were over 60% off. As much as I love Christmas, and yes, I brought Christmas decorations as well, we can’t forget Thanksgiving. I love our new cornucopia!
Do you have special decorations for Thanksgiving ?
