Happy Teaser Tuesday everyone. Hope you have a steamy or suspenseful or silly tease this week. I have one that will make you laugh, hopefully.

This week’s tease is from Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins.

Pg5: “The only French word I know is oui, which means ‘yes,’ and only recently did I learn it’s spelled o-u-i and not w-e-e.”

That’s never a good sign, especially if you are now officially a student in France for your senior year of high school. Let’s hope she picks up on the lingo, quickly.

What are you teasing?

*This line was taken from an ARC And may have changed in final printing*

This week’s Teaser Tuesday comes from a book that has completely opened my eyes to the Salem Witch Trials.

Ann Turner mixes history and fiction with the book Father of Lies. I will be raving about this book later in the week when my review is posted, but until then, here is a snippet:

Pg 62: “What is it like when a fit comes upon you?” Lidda asked.

Betty began in a dreamy voice. “My hands clench up, something pricks my skin all over, sometimes my arms freeze, then I have to throw myself onto the floor or I will lose my senses!”

This book absolutely amazed me. I had heard of the Salem Witch Trials, but never really knew what went down. Now, I can’t quit reading about that time.

What are you guys teasing this week?

This week’s Teaser Tuesday comes from a book I just started last night and am having a really hard time putting it down!

It’s Matched by Ally Condie.

This tease is a little long, but very self explanatory.

Pg29: …back when they decided our culture was too cluttered. They created commissions to choose the hundred best of everything: Hundred Songs, Hundred Paintings, Hundred Stories, Hundred Poems. The rest were eliminated. Gone forever. For the best, the Society said, and everyone believed because it made sense. How can we appreciate anything fully when overwhelmed with too much?

Love this book…. although I did have some crazy dreams, putting me right in this world and I was up until 3 a.m., but hey, I’m still going at it. What are you reading this week?

This week’s Teaser Tuesday comes from A Vintage Affair by Isabel Wolff. This is from an ARC, so these quotes are subject to change in the final revision.

I have never really been a vintage clothes wearer, but this book is changing my mind because of lines like this:

Pg17: “What I really love about them… is the fact that they contain someone’s personal history.”… “I find myself wondering about the women who wore them.”…”I find myself wondering about their lives. I can never look at a garmet like this suit… without thinking about the woman who owned it. How old was she? Did she work? Was she married? Was she happy?”

That in itself makes me want to go to a vintage store, just so I can put stories with the clothes! What are you reading this week?

This week’s Teaser Tuesday comes from a book I finished over the weekend, but I loved the line so much, I had to get back to it.

It’s from The Secret Society of the Pink Crystal Ball

Pg 72: “I don’t know if they’ll let me take my box on an airplane. And I won’t be able to think if I’m not inside of it.”

Hahaha I loved this line! A review of this is coming soon! Stay tuned!
