Cover Wars 2/1
Monday, February 1st, 2010I have never compared covers from different countries, but then again, I’ve never really ran across different covers. There are some Janet Evanovich Stephanie Plum covers that are different from the ones I have and now, the Sookie Stackhouse covers are changing to coincide with the TV show. The first I ever saw a post like this, it was about the different covers for the Luxe series. The US covers are amazing, but the UK ones, OMG! They’re phenomenal.
So, point of the post, the UK vs. US covers for my last read, Tainted. When I was looking up the release date for this book, I ran across the UK version. Here they are:
The UK cover is the one on the left, which makes the one I read on the right. I am going to say my favorite out of the two is the US cover. I find it suspenseful, much like the book. It doesn’t give much away, other than it’s by the ocean.
The UK cover seems more sexual than the book really is. Yes, they have sex but I would probably not have picked this book up with this cover because it looks a little more erotic than the books I like, which is very deceiving. It’s not nearly as descriptive as some of the books I’ve read in the past year.
Have you read the book? If so, which cover do you feel suits the book best? If you haven’t read it, which cover would you go after first?
