About

Hi all. Thanks for visiting my blog.
I started book blogging after I read Jane Eyre and just needed someone to gush to. My Myspace friends were the ones who got the honor and after a few months of random blogging on Myspace, I moved to WordPress. I finally got my own domain and have grown a lot and officially call myself a blogger now.
In my growing process, I have worked on my writing and reviewing and have made a lot of bloggy friends.
On my blog you’ll mainly find book reviews. I have been on a YA kick, but I love Chick Lit and an occasional Mystery. Too many give me nightmares! I also take part in a couple of weekly memes. I used to do a meme a day, now I use that time to perfect the more thought provoked posts.
I’ve recently, well in the past year, started writing a couple of books. Yikes! It’s still scary and unbelievable. I’m not finished with them yet, but you’ll definitely be updated with my progress on here.
And honestly, I’m a writer. I write for my job, I write for play and sometimes I just want to get on here and write (I think you can tell by my About section that I get off on tangents).
I rate all of the books I read out of five book marks:
One bookmark: Read at your own risk. If you hate it, tell me so I can “I told you so.”
Two bookmarks: I didn’t hate it, but I definitely won’t read it again.
Three bookmarks: I liked it, but I didn’t love it. I give a lot of threes because there are a lot of books that I have to think about. If I’m not sure if I REALLY liked it, I’ll give it a three. These are books that I’ll tell you I liked, but I’m not sure if I’d go out and buy it. Maybe just get it at the library.
Four bookmarks: I REALLY liked it and I’ll definitely keep this book to read again when I eventually run out of something new to read. I highly suggest these books.
Five bookmarks: Run out and get it NOW! I’ve lightened up a little in my reviewing process, but I still don’t give a bunch of 5s. If you see a five, I loved it and want you to read it so we can chat about it!
In my reviews, I always give a description of the book from my point of view. Then I’ll offer my thoughts. I normally cover the writing, what I liked, what I didn’t like, the characters, if it made me laugh/cry. Each book will normally talk about different things. It just depends on how I feel about it.
I like easy reads. After a day of death and destruction at work, I like to come home to a fun, girly book. But, I’m up for anything.
And yes, I judge a book by its cover. If it’s pretty, I’m more apt to buy it
If you have a book for me to read, let me know! My email is kariandersonwv@gmail.com
