Sasha is one of the richies, but she doesn’t really fit in well with them. Her two best friends Krystal and Jake, are from the other side of the tracks. It’s never been a problem until now, when her parents decide she needs to be more prominent in the social world. And it couldn’t be worse timing. In case I forgot to mention, Sasha has powers. Like super powers. Like she can teleport. Her friends Krystal and Jake, they also have powers. They’ve used these powers once to catch a creepy old teacher, but now they’re realizing what their powers are really for and why they were chosen for them.

This is the second book in the Msytyx series. The first was told through Krystal’s eyes, this one is told through Sasha’s. The kids are growing through their powers, but also dealing with the normal high school shenanigans. Boys and crushes, girls and drama and parents always butting in.

The one thing I liked about the first one was that I could always follow what was going on. In this book, and maybe I started skimming and didn’t get the full description, I got confused at times talking about the bad guy/black stuff. I’m not 100% sure what it exactly is, and maybe that is the point, but I was lost and am still trying to grasp it.

The concept however intrigues me and I will keep my eye out for the rest of the series and I’m happy that another girl has joined the group. Maybe that means a 4th book is coming out. I’m a little nervous for the 3rd book, Mayhem, just because it’s told from Jake’s point of view. Kudos to Arthur for tackling being a woman writing in a man’s voice. I just hope I can relate. Eww boys!

I give Mystify 3 bookmarks.
