Holy Book Sale!

So today I went to my first book sale since I’ve been a chain reader. I used to go to one at the fair (yes, we had a book sale at the county fair) every year, but this is my first big one.

As far as I know, there aren’t book sales at the libraries in Mason or Gallia counties. Or at least, there hasn’t been one that I’ve been aware of.

Today the Cabell County Library kicked off their Friends of Library book sale. I took an early lunch and a short walk to make sure I got there before all the good ones were gone. I really wasn’t sure what to expect, but this is what I scored:

Angels and Demons
Dewey
Pride and Prejudice
Memoirs of a Geisha
Vision in White
Rough Weather
Jurassic Park
Anna Karenina

I was a little disappointed about the Young Adult section. There were a few R.L. Stein books that I read when I was a teen. There weren’t really any new ones that I’ve had my eye on.

All of the books I did get though, I have been looking at, just never got.

I am most excited about Anna Karenina. I have never read it, but heard wonderful things about it. I am also pumped that it is a 1950 edition. Oh, I am a dork.

The best part of the whole experience, my bill was $12.25.  I was so excited to get not only some classics that I’ve wanted to read, but also some new releases.

What a great deal! I’ve also always wanted to read Anna Karenina! I really, really wish my local libraries did book sales! Oh well, I will settle with Half Price Books! Happy Reading! :)

Ha! I love that you describe yourself as a chain reader. I may have to adopt that one.

You walked away with a great loot! I also picked up Anna Karenina at a sale last year, but yours is much prettier than mine ;)

Used book sales are so cool, aren’t they? My library branch has one once a month (perfect for the addiction!) and other Metro libraries have them a couple of times a year. Then there is an awesome one at the Brentwood library quarterly. These sales are why my fiction library is at 1700+…LOL!

You picked up some really great books! Can’t wait to hear about your next sale :)
