Musing Monday 11/16
Today’s Musing Monday is about the holidays!
With the holiday season now upon us, have you left any hint – subtle or otherwise – for books family and friends might buy you for Christmas? Do you like to receive books, or do you prefer certificates so you can choose your own?
I normally don’t make a generic list and tell people to choose. I have a list of 3-4 books for my brother to get me for Christmas at my mom’s house and dad’s house. I usually take this time to update my series. I also have a list for my family at my grandparents house. With this, I will normally do a series if I can find a box set. I don’t really like surprises when it comes to books. I’d rather know what I am getting.
I am always up for a gift card if someone doesn’t know what to buy me. I’d much rather get a gift card than a generic gift!
What about you?

I’ll be making a list this year. I want to get to 700 books by the end if the year.
Here is mine
What series do you enjoy? I’m considering trying the Sookie Stackhouse series. I definitely like book certificates but I really want the Kindle
I am a HUGE fan of series! I have read all of the Stephanie Plum books by Janet Evanovich, except the last one. I have the first 8 of the Sookie Stackhouse series. I’ve read the first two and liked them. I read The Luxe and can’t wait to get my hands on the other ones. I have read the first two in the Poseur series, and am wanting the third one. And I read the Wicked: Witch and Curse combo book. There are two more in that series I’d like to read as well. As you can see, I’m big on series : )
see the problem is a gift card is rather generic, isn’t it?
even though I love to get them..lol
I used to think gift cards were generic and didn’t get any thought put in them, but the older I get, the more I would rather have a gift card than for someone to guess what to get me. I have received some doozys over the years that would have helped me stock pile my book shelf if only they were gift cards
I recently got married and the gift cards we got for the wedding have been soooo helpful!
