Booking Through Thursday 10/1
Happy Thursday with a book topic that made me gasp when I read it. Today’s question is: Two-thirds of Brits have lied about reading books they haven’t. Have you? Why? What book?
The only time I think I ever did this was maybe in college when I didn’t have time – or lets face it – just didn’t feel like reading my assignments.
Do people really say they’ve read books when they have not? The first thing that would happen to me if I did this would be someone striking up a conversation about said book and I’d get busted!
I don’t know about you – but I believe this to be a cardinal sin of reading
Now, there are books that I have read A LONG TIME AGO that I don’t really remember, but I still tell people I read them. It’s almost like I haven’t because I don’t even remember what it was about, but deep down, I know I’ve perused the pages at least once.
Have you lied?? TELL ME, TELL ME, TELL ME!

I did when I was in the Fifth grade. Here is mine
Me too, me too! I don’t really remember any of the books I read in high school, but I still include in the list of books I’ve read. I’m sure I took the time to read (or at least skim) them, so they should count, right?
I say if you read it, you read it. It is not just books from school. I’ve been out of school ten years, but I don’t remember everything about books I read five years ago. In fact, I know I read Margret Atwood’s The Blind Assassin. I checked it out of the library, because I go and look every time to see if they have one of her books I haven’t read. But it has been years. I read the jacket when I picked it up at a book sale two months ago and found I don’t remember the plot. I read it. It’s on the list.
