Heaven in a Coffee Cup

Saturday, October 31st, 2009

So it’s no surprise how much I love pumpkin. From the moment they put them on the shelves, I am always picking up pumpkin blobs. For those of you who don’t live in Point Pleasant, blobs are two small pumpkin cakes with a spice icing in the middle. They are delicious.

Too add to my pumpkin obsession, last year I learned about the Pumpkin Spice Latte. This year, I’ve allowed myself one a week. Otherwise, I am going to go poor. But, I think I just saved myself a little time and money and found out how to have a little bit of pumpkin in a cup at home.

The Silver Bridge Coffee Company in Gallia County, Ohio now sells Pumpkin Spice Coffee! OMG! I just made my first cup and I am in love! I am a huge fan of the Starbucks latte, but this has a great blend of coffee and pumpkin and I can make it anytime that I want.

I learned about this company last year. My mom is a teacher and the owner’s daughter brought in a box of different flavors. My mom isn’t a coffee drinker, so she decided to get me a mint mocha that is fantastic for the holidays. It was delicious! I always used to just flavor my coffee with creamer, but I love these because all I have to add is a sugar or two. Plus, I love helping out a local business.

They have some great flavored coffees including a couple of cinnamon ones, chocolate caramel, and the next one on my “To Buy” list, dark chocolate cherry. Mmmmm!

If you are a fan of flavored coffee or know someone that is, check out their website. You can buy by the 6oz ($5.99) or 12oz bag ($9.99) or make your own samplers with three bags ($15.00).

I know I sound like a commercial, but I promise I wouldn’t be raving about this if I didn’t love it! If you’re going to take the time to put something on your blog, you know it’s the real thing!

If anyone tries this, let me know what kind you get and what you think!

So Halloween is by far one of my favorite holidays. As many nightmares as I have, all I do is watch scary movies and read scary books. Plus, I love all the decorations and pumpkins and costumes…. ok you get the point.

Another addition to this Halloween that I love? Ramblings of a Teenage Bookworm is hosting a giveaway. There are 12 books listed. One winner will get to choose the 4 books they want. There’s everything from Demon Princess to Hush Hush.

I am very pumped about this. Click the link on the blog title to check it out!

I think I am finished! I have completely revamped my blog, but I promise, this is the last change …. for now. The only thing that will definitely change is the picture in the frame. I will change that with the changing of the season, or when I just get a good one.

There are no page tabs on this theme, so to get to my books, movies or challenges page, you have to click the widget link on the sidebar.

I won’t leave you hanging on the pictures. I will write about the changing of the pictures in hopes of getting you a better look into my bookwormish life!

The first picture: Fall in Huntington, WV. I took this on the way to work today. One of the best parts of my day the past week or so has been driving down 3rd Avenue because the trees are so beautiful.

Please let me know how you feel about the new layout!

Sorry…..

…for the random changes on my blog today. I have been working on my Style Sheet and different themes. I have pictures on my camera to upload to my header, but my memory card can’t be plugged into my computer. I promise it will be fixed tonight before I go to bed!

Thanks for being patient!

Best Guest Book Ever

Wednesday, October 28th, 2009

So my mom and her friend were geniuses when it came to the wedding. All of their ideas were so creative, even down to the guest book. My mom said she looked everywhere for something to match our colors, which were black and gold. She wanted something classy, but simple. She looked at all the wedding and craft stores and couldn’t find anything.

So when she and her friends were on a girls trip to the mall, they decided to hit up borders, where they hit the jackpot. They found this:

Isn’t it cool? Nice little leather book. The pages have gold around the edges. It’s very fitting. And yes, you can see on the front, mom had our names and the wedding date put on in gold.

And on the inside, for the first 30 or so pages, she had the art teacher at her school write Name and Address in pretty handwriting.

After the first 30 pages, she left the rest blank. She knows that I like to write and thought it would be cool if I used it to write about our marriage from the beginning. As much as I do love to write, I am bad about writing in these. I wrote in it the day she gave it to me, but haven’t since then. I need to get in there and write everything down while it’s still fresh in my memory.
